European Cheerleading Championships - ICU Europeans Prague 2026 – Slovak teams at the top!

The spring season of 2026 brought plenty of reasons to celebrate for fans of Slovak cheerleading. In addition to the excellent performance of all our athletes in domestic competitions, where more than 570 Slovak girls, boys, and adults presented themselves, our athletes also succeeded abroad.

Our teams recorded their first major successes at the largest Czech competition, the Prague Cheer Open, in March. The junior team Diamonds and the youth team Golden Rabbits, both from the F.R.E.S.H. Zvolen club, won valuable gold medals in a highly competitive environment.

The younger children from the same club also presented a great result in April at a major international competition in Budapest. The Primary team (age category for children from 9 to 13 years) Happy Cats placed 1st ahead of Hungarian, Austrian, and Croatian teams.

April was also a breakthrough month in the representation of Slovakia. For the first time, members of the first national junior team SCT 2026 presented themselves on the grounds of the American ESPN center. On the biggest cheerleading stage – the ICU WORLDS CHEERLEADING CHAMPIONSHIP – the 25-member national team won a wonderful 5th place for our colors.

The highlight of the season for our athletes, however, was the 2026 ICU European Championships, which took place from July 2 to 5, 2026, in Prague.

The Slovaks shone fully. Out of four teams representing the Slovak tricolor, 3 of them stood on the winners' podium. How did it all turn out?

Category: Junior Coed Advanced – the Diamonds team from the F.R.E.S.H. Zvolen club won first place and the title of European Champion 2026 with their performance.

Category: Youth Coed Median – the Golden Rabbits team from the F.R.E.S.H. Zvolen club won gold medals and the title of European Champion 2026.

Category: Youth All Girl Median – the Unity Flames team from the UNITY Trenčín club won bronze medals.

The top results and excellent representation of Slovakia were also appreciated during a joint meeting at the Ministry of Tourism and Sports by the State Secretary for Sport, Štefan Engel, who presented the Union and representatives of both medal-winning clubs with a letter of thanks from the Minister.

What awaits us in the autumn? The season does not end; on the contrary, it continues with other major competitions and preparation for WORLDS 2027 and also 2028.
